TLC Center BLC has five classrooms, divided by age. TLC Center GFC has six classrooms, also divided by age.
MINI LEARNERS – Infants (0–12 Months)
Our Infant Room is designed to feel like a home away from home. In this nurturing space, care is provided entirely on an “as needed” basis—if your child is hungry, we feed them; if they’re tired, we help them rest. We strive to meet each infant's individual needs with compassion and love, while gently introducing routines as they grow and develop self-soothing skills.
At TLC, we honor your unique parenting style and work to provide continuity of care. The teaching team in our infant classroom remains consistent, so your child can build trusting relationships with familiar caregivers. When it’s time to transition to the next developmental stage, they’ll already know the new teachers, making the change smoother and more comforting.
Our dedicated staff members exceed state requirements in early childhood education and are carefully chosen for their expertise and passion in infant care. This classroom typically serves children from six weeks to twelve months of age.
We are also proud to partner with Early Head Start in this room. This collaboration provides access to additional resources and support to meet your child’s developmental and educational needs.
LITTLE LEARNERS – 12 to 24 Months
Our Little Learners classroom is designed for mobile infants, typically ranging from twelve to twenty four months, and serves as a gentle bridge between infancy and toddlerhood. This stage of development is full of wonder and rapid growth, and our classroom is tailored with the flexibility and patience needed to support each child through this exciting transition.
Here, children often enter just beginning to crawl or pull themselves up—and leave as confident toddlers, eager to explore their world. We focus on helping each child meet their developmental milestones through nurturing guidance, engaging interactions, and hands-on experiences.
Our goals include:
-
Fostering positive peer interactions
-
Building physical strength and coordination
-
Supporting early language and vocabulary development
Consistency in daily routines is key to helping children feel safe, secure, and confident as they grow. The progress we see in this classroom—from first steps to first words—is truly remarkable and deeply rewarding for both our educators and families.
This classroom is also part of our Early Head Start Collaboration, giving us access to enhanced resources that support your child’s developmental and educational journey.
TRAILBLAZERS & ADVENTURERS – 2-Year-Olds (24 to 36 Months)
Our Adventurers classroom is designed for children ages 24 to 36 months and focuses on the dynamic growth that happens during this important stage. In this room, we emphasize peer interaction, vocabulary expansion, conflict resolution, and the development of reasoning and independence skills—all tailored to meet each child’s developmental level.
We believe in nurturing a strong sense of community while honoring each child's unique personality. Here, children begin to understand what it means to be part of a group—working together, sharing experiences, and supporting one another—while also gaining confidence in their individual identities.
Our teaching goals include:
-
Encouraging positive social interactions
-
Promoting language and communication skills
-
Supporting emotional awareness and conflict resolution
-
Fostering self-help and independence skills
The educators in this classroom are highly trained, patient, and passionate. They go well beyond state standards for early childhood education and are skilled in active supervision and curriculum innovation. New learning techniques are seamlessly integrated into our daily routines to meet the needs of every child.
This classroom is also part of our Early Head Start Collaboration, which provides access to a wide range of resources that support both developmental and educational growth.
EXPLORERS – 3-Year-Olds
Our Explorers classroom is specially designed for 3-year-olds, a time when children are becoming more confident, curious, and socially aware. The focus in this room is on building self-concept and confidence, expanding vocabulary, fostering cognitive and emotional development, and promoting positive peer interactions—all while introducing foundational pre-kindergarten skills.
In this classroom, children are active participants in their learning. Through a balance of child-led play and intentional teacher-guided activities, we create an environment where curiosity flourishes and learning feels like a natural part of their day. Every activity is thoughtfully planned with each child’s interests in mind, as well as the values and priorities of their families.
Key learning goals include:
-
Developing confidence and independence
-
Expanding language and thinking skills
-
Supporting emotional understanding
-
Strengthening social connections
-
Laying the foundation for kindergarten readiness
Our teachers are warm, enthusiastic, and deeply knowledgeable in early childhood development—many are actively pursuing or have completed college-level coursework. They work closely with our Pre-K team to ensure your child transitions smoothly and is fully prepared—both academically and emotionally—for the next stage of their educational journey.
PIONEERS – 4 & 5-Year-Olds (Pre-Kindergarten)
Our Pioneers classroom is home to our Pre-K children, ages four and up. The primary focus here is preparation for kindergarten—academically, socially, and emotionally. We provide a structured yet flexible environment that mirrors many aspects of a kindergarten classroom, while still honoring the developmental needs of preschoolers.
Children follow a thoughtfully designed routine that introduces them to group learning, classroom expectations, and peer collaboration. At the same time, we ensure they have plenty of opportunities for big body play, helping them continue to build coordination and confidence in their growing bodies.
Each day includes:
-
Learning through play
-
Circle time and group instruction
-
One-on-one learning opportunities
-
Peer interaction and classroom collaboration
Our approach is child-centered, meaning we value each child's individual learning style, interests, and needs. Curriculum planning is intentional, flexible, and enriched by student input—allowing each child to take ownership of their learning journey.
The teachers in this classroom are experienced, nurturing, and deeply passionate about early education. They are selected for their ability to make every moment a teachable one, seamlessly integrating learning into play and daily routines. With education levels well beyond state requirements, our Pioneer teachers are fully committed to preparing each child for a smooth, confident transition into elementary school.
