Company Positions:
EARLY CHILDHOOD LEAD TEACHER – ECLT
Teaching
*Plan, prepare, and implement a curriculum and lesson plans appropriate for the age level, skill, and social development of the classroom.
*Record each child’s daily attendance.
*Complete all paperwork as required (including but not limited to assessments, EHS documents, Daily Care Logs, etc.).
*Maintain a fun and safe learning environment for the children.
*Perform assigned duties relevant to the needs of the program.
*Be responsible for delegating classroom responsibilities equally.
*Always maintain confidentiality.
*Establish and enforce rules of behavior for children in their classrooms
*Provide basic needs for children
*Provide tools and resources for children to use and explore during learning and play activities
*Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the interests and learning styles of children
*Develop and maintain positive relationships with children and parents*
*Manage classroom activities including lessons, play, breaks, and meals
*Track children’s progress and report to parents through the use of child development portfolios
*Maintain a clean and tidy classroom
*Help children reach developmental milestones
*Encourage children to interact with each other to develop social skills
*Maintain inventory system for classroom materials and supplies
*Facilitate various activities for children including songs, games, and storytelling
*Adhere to health/safety and sanitation procedures
Supervision
*Be responsible for the supervision and management of children while working in cooperation with co-teachers and assistants.
*Staff are required to position themselves so that someone can always see sleeping infants, toddlers, and two-year-old children even when other children are awake and engaging with the teachers.
*Monitor indoor and outdoor environments daily for hazards.
*Arrange the environment to facilitate choices for children and ensure that their whereabouts are known to educators at all times.
*Ensure that they are available and focused on the needs of the children at all times and be responsive and mindful in their care and supervision of children.
*Be mindful of children’s whereabouts, if they are out of sight (e.g. in a cubby or behind a tree or hiding), educators are aware of where they are at all times.
*Be especially mindful of risks when children are engaged in activities such as cooking and play that is in or near water.
*Be in close proximity to the children at all times to enable prompt intervention to prevent injuries e.g. on climbing equipment.
*To intervene when necessary to manage any inappropriate behavior in order to safeguard the children from psychological or physical harm.
*Ensure that there is a balance of activities to allow for appropriate supervision and to ensure that educators’ resources are not stretched.
*Build relationships with children and develop an understanding of their needs in terms of supervision, assistance, and developmental stage and milestones.
*Regularly account for each child especially at transition times, after a break, when moving indoors from outdoors and moving from one room to another.
*Ensure children are accompanied by an adult at all times.
*Nominated Supervisor to regularly check attendance is completed correctly.
*Be aware of the people who have the authority to collect children and will only ever release children into the care of authorized people.
*Ensure that conversations with families, visitors, and staff are conducted at times when supervision practices are not compromised.
*Ensure that parents are informed of the importance of shutting gates and doors, ensuring that they do not let any children other than their own out of the building or grounds.
*Ensure particular care is taken to develop procedures that ensure children are adequately supervised during peak pick-up and drop-off times.
*Ensure that when visitors or students are present at the service they are always supervised by TLC staff
Support & Mentoring
*Establish and maintain a positive collaborative relationship with professional peers.
*Participate in all required mentor/coach development overseen by the Director and Executive Director
*Facilitate teacher’s understanding and implementation of teaching strategies to improve student outcomes based on instructional assessment data, program data, and classroom observation.
*Facilitates teachers in reflecting on and analyzing their practice and reviewing student outcomes to inform instruction and enhance student achievement.
*Understand and be able to articulate to the teaching staff, the program curriculum and instruction.
*Create detailed coaching plans, which include focused goals and measures of success.
*Support the teacher’s achievement of goals by using coaching strategies that gradually release responsibility for implementing instruction practices of the teacher.
*Plan and implement comprehensive instruction support, designed to support instructional staff.
*Provides clear, direct, and support feedback to the teacher based on analysis of practice.
*Consistently analyze teacher practice through ongoing classroom observations, data analysis, and classroom observation.
*Assist with classroom reviews and monitoring to ensure program mandates and requirements are met.
*Assist in the delivery of the developmental screening and assessment tools used within the program.
*Complete classroom visits to follow up with staff and to monitor for understanding and implementation of concepts taught.
*Assists teachers with lesson planning.
*Present at staff development meetings and facilitate professional learning opportunities.
*Provide orientation and training to new instructional staff.
*Maintain required recordkeeping, agendas, minutes, and sign-in sheets.
*Participate in on-site monitoring reviews.
*Attend recommended training programs, conferences, and organizations that promote professional growth and improvement of early childhood education.
*Assist classroom staff in the provision of special needs services.
*Be responsible for the collection and analysis of the assessment data.
The Environment
*Plan, prepare, and care for the environment.
*Maintain a classroom arrangement that is safe, inviting, interesting, and stimulating.
*Assume an equal share of joint housekeeping responsibilities to the center.
*Assist children with personal hygiene practices like handwashing, etc.
*Invite children to delve deeper, investigate, and represent their learning through a range of mediums.
*Encourage children to make choices.
*Include displays of children’s work.
*Allow for children’s work in progress to be saved.
*Use children’s interests as a platform for developing project investigations that are responsive to the hypothesis children are forming through their play.
EARLY CHILDHOOD ASSISTANT TEACHER – ECAT
Teaching and Supervision
*Maintain a fun and safe learning environment for the children.
*Be responsible for the supervision and management of children while working in cooperation with and under the supervision and guidance of the Lead Teacher.
*Implement daily activities under the direction of the Lead Teacher.
*Perform assigned duties relevant to the needs of the program.
*Assume responsibility for the children and daily tasks when the lead teacher is out of the environment.
*Assist teachers with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment.
*Working with small groups of students to enhance the learning process.
*Supporting each child’s social, emotional, and intellectual growth and development.
*Constantly monitors the safety and well-being of students; monitors student attitudes and encourages self-esteem; assists students with becoming increasingly independent.
*Provide personal aid and care as necessary to students, such as help with hygiene, eating or toileting, for example.
The Environment
*Be a good role model. Provide the children with a warm and accepting environment.
*Supervise the children in all areas.
*Performs general housekeeping duties in maintaining an orderly classroom; performs repair and maintenance tasks related to school equipment.

Services Bureau/Child and Adult Care Food Program that all children at the institution(s) are served the
same meals at no separate charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability and
